Bring that warm, café-terrace glow to your garden with ConnectGo festoon lights. With their larger bulbs spaced evenly along the cable, festoons create a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere over a patio, pergola or party. Part of our low-voltage 31V ConnectGo system, they connect together up to around 100 metres and can run from mains, battery or solar, so you can light exactly the space you want, however you want to power it.

  • Low voltage and safe: Runs at just 31V, a reassuring choice around children and pets.
  • Multi-power source: Power from mains, battery or solar, and switch to suit the spot and season.
  • Frosted or filament: Choose a soft, diffused frosted bulb or a vintage A60 or G50 filament look.
  • IP44, 2-year guarantee: Durable black rubber cable with a 2-year anti-rust promise.

What are festoon lights?

Festoon lights are the timeless string of larger, evenly spaced bulbs you find draped across beer gardens, weddings and patios. Where fairy lights give a fine, delicate sparkle, festoons deliver bolder, warmer pools of light, one from each bulb, for that unmistakable relaxed, outdoor-dining feel. On our ConnectGo festoons the bulbs sit 50cm apart along a durable rubber cable, striking the perfect balance between glow and gap.

Frosted or filament: which festoon bulb?

The ConnectGo festoon range offers two distinct looks, so you can match the mood of your space.

  • Frosted-bulb festoons: A soft, diffused, contemporary glow, with 50 warm white, white or multi-coloured LEDs per 5m for a gentle, even light.
  • A60 filament festoons: Ten large, classic light-bulb-shaped caps per 5m, for a bold, vintage, Edison-style statement at 160 lumens.
  • G50 filament festoons: Ten smaller, golf-ball-sized caps per 5m, for the same retro character in a more delicate form.
  • Colours to suit: Frosted festoons come in warm white, white or multi-coloured, while the filament caps are replaceable, so you can recolour a display whenever you like.

Change the colour with replaceable caps

One of the nicest touches on the filament ranges is the replaceable cap. Rather than buying a whole new set to change your scheme, you simply twist off the clear A60 or G50 caps and swap in our replaceable multi-coloured caps, supplied in red, green, blue and yellow. Each cap has a built-in drainage hole so water never pools inside, keeping them safe for year-round outdoor use, and letting you refresh a display for a party, a wedding or a season in minutes.

Powered your way: mains, battery or solar

This is where ConnectGo stands apart. The very same festoons can run from three interchangeable power sources: a low-voltage 31V mains transformer for the brightest, longest-lasting light, a battery box for a corner of the garden with no socket nearby, or a solar panel for cable-free running with no bill at all. The mains and battery power sources add a built-in timer and a choice of effects, and you buy the power source separately so you can pick, and change, whatever suits.

How far can I run festoon lights?

ConnectGo festoons come in connectable 5 metre belts and extend up to around 100 metres from a single power source, ideal for small to medium gardens and events. Order a longer length and it arrives as separate 5m belts ready to click together. Because any ConnectGo product connects to any other, you can also add ConnectGo cluster lights or icicle lights to the same power source and build one coordinated display. For a larger commercial run beyond 100 metres, step up to our heavy-duty ConnectPro festoon lights.

Where to hang your festoon lights

Festoons are all about atmosphere. Swag them across a pergola, gazebo or decking, zigzag them over a patio to create an outdoor room, run them along fencing and balustrades, or drape them around a marquee for a wedding or party. For long spans between posts, thread a catenary support wire through to take the weight and keep the power source dry. Bringing the party inside? Our indoor festoon lights give the same glow to a kitchen, bar or party room.

ConnectGo® Festoon Lights FAQs

What are festoon lights?

Festoon lights are the classic string of larger, evenly spaced bulbs you see draped across beer gardens, weddings and patios. On our ConnectGo festoons the bulbs sit 50cm apart along the cable, giving that relaxed, café-style glow rather than the fine sparkle of fairy lights.

What bulb styles do ConnectGo festoons come in?

There are two looks. Frosted-bulb festoons give a soft, diffused, contemporary glow, at 50 LEDs per 5m in warm white, white or multi-coloured. Filament-effect festoons recreate a vintage bulb, with 10 traditional A60 or G50 caps per 5m for an old-world, Edison-style feel.

How are ConnectGo festoon lights powered?

Through the ConnectGo multi-power system. The same festoons can run from a low-voltage 31V mains transformer, a battery box where there is no socket, or a solar panel, and the mains and battery sources include a timer and multiple effects. The power source is bought separately.

Are they safe around children and pets?

Yes. ConnectGo runs at a low 31 volts rather than mains voltage, which makes it a reassuring choice for gardens and homes with children or animals, where a cable is more likely to be knocked or nibbled.

Are ConnectGo festoon lights suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. They are IP44 rated on durable black rubber cable with a 2-year anti-rust guarantee, so they handle rain and frost for indoor and prolonged outdoor use. Keep the transformer or battery box dry, in a sheltered spot or a weatherproof box.

Where do festoon lights look best?

Festoons are made for atmosphere: swagged across a pergola, gazebo or decking, zigzagged over a patio or garden, strung along fencing and eaves, or hung around a marquee for a wedding or party. Their evenly spaced bulbs create that warm, welcoming, café-terrace feel.

Can I connect festoons to other ConnectGo lights?

Yes. Any product with the ConnectGo logo connects together, so you can mix festoons with ConnectGo fairy, cluster, icicle and string lights on the same power source, building one coordinated display from a single plug, battery or solar panel.
