Outdoor Christmas Silhouettes for Gardens, Walls and House Fronts

Fairy lights and icicles set the scene, but an outdoor silhouette gives your display a centrepiece. A star above the front door, a snowflake on the garage or a reindeer leaping across the fence is what people notice first from the street, and it takes minutes to put up.

Pick a Size That Works from the Pavement

Outdoor displays are seen from further away than indoor ones, so it pays to go a little bigger than you think:

• 40cm to 65cm: porches, gates, fence panels and the outside of windows
• 75cm to 1.3m: house fronts, garage doors and garden walls
• 2m and above: large gardens, shop fronts, pubs, schools and street displays

Ready for Rain, Frost and Wind

Every outdoor silhouette here is built to stay outside all season. You'll find the IP rating on each product page: IP44 is the minimum for outdoor Christmas lights, and a higher number means more protection against water. Keep plugs and connections off the ground and sheltered, or tuck them into a weatherproof connection box.

Rope Light, Neon Flex or Infinity Mirror?

The type of lighting changes how a silhouette looks after dark:

• Rope light silhouettes give the classic glowing outline and suit traditional displays.
• Neon flex silhouettes produce a smooth, unbroken line of light and come in colours including warm white, red, pink, blue and green.
• Infinity mirror silhouettes use mirrored panels to create a 3D tunnel effect that draws the eye from across the street.
• Wire frame silhouettes are lightweight and discreet in daylight, which makes them easy to hang on fences and trellis.

Popular Outdoor Silhouette Designs

Stars are the classic choice for a reason: they suit every style of home and look just as good alone as in a group. Snowflakes pair well with icicle lights along the roofline, while reindeer, Santas and snowmen bring character to lawns and driveways. For more animal designs, see our light up reindeer.

Outdoor Silhouettes for Businesses and Public Spaces

Lighting a high street, shop front or venue? Our commercial outdoor range includes aluminium framed North Stars, lamp post motifs and cross street displays up to 4m wide, all made for commercial displays. Businesses can apply for a trade account.

Planning a Bigger Display?

Our ConnectPro® and ConnectGo® silhouettes are connectable, so you can link several pieces together and run them from a single plug. That means fewer cables across the garden and one timer to control the lot.
