Modular Design for Limitless Scale

Connectable lighting systems are the backbone of high-impact decorative displays. Unlike standard fixed-length sets, these modular systems use a plug-and-play architecture, allowing you to “daisy chain” multiple lengths of fairy lights, icicles, or festoons. This makes them the ideal solution for large-scale outdoor projects where consistent power and a seamless aesthetic are required across long distances.

Engineered for All-Weather Performance

Built to withstand the elements, our connectable ranges feature heavy-duty cabling and secure, watertight seals.

  • Weatherproofing: Look for IP65-rated systems for permanent or semi-permanent outdoor installations, ensuring protection against heavy rain and dust.
  • Cable Durability: Choose between lightweight PVC for flexible indoor/outdoor decorating or commercial-grade rubber cables for maximum longevity in harsh winter conditions.
  • Low Voltage vs. Mains: Opt for low-voltage (31V) systems for family-friendly garden displays or mains-powered (240V) systems for massive commercial installations spanning hundreds of meters.

Choosing Your Style & Function

Every display has a different “job” to do. To achieve a professional finish, consider the specific category that matches your architecture:

  • Fairy Lights: Best for wrapping around trunks, branches, or pillars to create a dense glow.
  • Icicle Lights: Perfect for gutters, eaves, and fences to create a cascading winter effect.
  • Festoon Lights: Ideal for overhead canopies in gardens or patios, offering a vintage, ambient feel.
  • Curtain & Net Lights: Use these to cover large vertical surfaces or hedges with minimal effort.

Installation Tips

Before starting, calculate your total length requirements and check the maximum number of LEDs or meters your specific power transformer can support. We recommend starting your “run” from the power source and testing each section as you connect it. For a cohesive look, stick within the same system (e.g., ConnectPro or ConnectGo) to ensure color temperatures and connectors remain consistent throughout your display.

Connectable Lights FAQs

Which system is best for achieving a professional, long-term commercial lighting display?

For a truly professional and long-term installation, the ConnectPro® system is highly recommended. It uses robust 240V mains power and heavy-duty IP65 rubber cables, making it the superior choice for pubs, hotels, or high-traffic commercial environments.

Are connectable lights expensive to run?

Our connectable lights use LED technology, which is very efficient. Decorative lighting is generally not as bright as more functional lighting, which also reduces the amount of electricity it uses. Feel free to use our handy tool to work out exactly how much electricity a set of lights uses.

To give you an idea, a single set of lights will be pennies per month rather than pounds. Even large displays (such as connectable Christmas lights used on an average of 6 hours per day) would only be a few pounds a month.

How energy efficient are these LED connectable lights compared to old Christmas bulbs?

Our LED connectable lights are extremely energy efficient, using up to 90% less electricity than traditional filament bulbs. Running a large, typical Christmas display for six hours a day will generally only cost a few pounds per month, making them an eco-friendly and budget-conscious choice.

Can I mix connectable icicle lights and festoon lights on the same power cable?

Yes, provided all the lights you wish to connect belong to the same branded system (e.g., all ConnectPro® or all ConnectGo®), you can mix and match different light styles, such as icicle lights, string lights, and silhouettes, on the same single power lead.

What is the main difference between ConnectGo® and ConnectPro® connectable lights?

The main difference is the power and intended use. ConnectGo® is a low voltage (31V) system ideal for temporary, domestic use and features multi-function options, whereas ConnectPro® is a heavy-duty, mains-powered (240V) system with a superior IP65 rating, perfect for permanent, all-year-round outdoor displays and commercial use.

Do connectable lights include the connectors?

Yes, a male and female connection is built into the lights. At one end, the lights will connect to the power supply, which then plugs into the wall, battery box or solar panel. The other end can plug into another set of lights like a daisy chain. For the last set of lights in the chain (or if you are using a set of our festive connectable lights on their own), you can secure the end with the attached rubber seal to the intended wall/structure.

How do I store my connectable Christmas lights to ensure they last?

To ensure longevity, always disconnect the lights from the power source, gently coil each run, and store them in a dry, cool environment, ideally in a specialised storage bag or reel. This prevents tangling and protects the cable and connectors from damage.

Why is the power plug separate?

If you're looking to combine multiple sets of connectable Christmas lights or garden lights, having a separate power plug allows you to create any configuration of lights, with any number of sets. You can add more lights over time and create entirely flexible lighting designs, without needing additional plugs and power sources.

For this reason, the plug is not included with the purchase of lights, as not every customer needs one. If you're adding to your collection of connectable lights, you'll avoid paying for a plug you don't need.

How do I choose the right connectable system?

Whether you want outdoor connectable Christmas lights for the festive season, a permanent and all-weather display in your garden, or something more professional, there's a connectable system for you. Choose ConnectGo® for smaller temporary displays, ConnectPro® for large displays to be used all year round, FestoonPro® for commercial installations, and ColourConnect® for maximum flexibility and complete colour customisation.
